3 Day Fragmentation Win 8.1 (day and night), in order to clone my drive to SSD

so its wednesday now, I started my fragmentation on saturday 2:30PM, and it's still running not stop.

I bought a 250GB Samsung SSD 860 EVO | Samsung V-NAND.
I tried cloning My 1TB HHD via Samsung's dedicated software but failed due to defrag error.
I then tried other softwares such as EaseUS Todo Backup Home & Macrium Reflect yet still receiving errors.

I then decided to do a dskchk f:/ command to check and fix bad sectors...

Till then, my PC is still running the defragmentation.

My Question, is there any other way to clone my device without having to do the 20day challenge with WIN 8.1 Defragmentation, as I noticed the farther my defragmentation goes, the farther SAMSUNG cloning completion goes.

I ended up at 48% Cloning for 9Hours, then failed.
as my defargmentation did not finish...
Also the first time I tried cloning, it stopped at 4%.

It's been more than 72Hours since I started the Defragmentation process, will it stop soon, or is there another method of cloning, or is there any info regarding this and someone had the same issue...
your help will be greatly appreciated...

You mention your initial cloning failed due to error but fail to provide what the error was exactly. We can't predict how long it will take, but it sounds like, your HDD has some I/O errors hence the reason you cannot clone it and it's taking 72 hours to defrag (which won't help you clone the drive).

  • the error is "Cloning Failed. An error occurred while defragmenting the disk. 3083000[04b44c]"

As I indicated. It sounds like your HDD has started to fail. You should verify if that is the case, and instead of submitting vital information as a comment, edit your question.

  • Is a straight file copy also so radically slower? Suggest you copy files to external media or a server, and after verifying them, delete them from the source PC. That will minimize the chance of losing data. Also, if your cloning app only copies sectors with data, then the eventual cloning will be faster. and by reducing the sectors with data to clone.
