git repository in pcloud synced folder keeps changing files

I've made the switch from Dropbox to pCloud recently due to their lack of support for some filesystems.

I've been sharing working git repositories via the cloud with my other machines. Only one machine is on at any given time so there was no problem with conflicted files with Dropbox.

However, now with pCloud, I frequently find my files modified in git status but git diff and diff find no changes. This stops when I turn off pCloud.

When this happens git status list all files as deleted and then all files untracked.
I can fix this for a minute or so if I run git add -A

I know this isn't best practice but these repositories are small and I haven't had any problems with Dropbox before.

Does anyone know what is happening?
