Distance functions for stochastic simulations in R

I have been using approximate Bayesian computation to parameterize deterministic models. However now I am using stochastic models (Tau-leap method) I don't know how to use these data in distance functions. For example if I have a data point at time t=12 and my stochastic simulation has two points which are at times 11.82 and 12.56 how would I efficiently find the time at t=12 for the distance function?

Thanks in advance,
Emma
