Using Xlaunch and plink to launch an xterm
I'm trying to connect to a remote linux box using Xming / Xlaunch. My local machine is Windows 10, and I have installed Xming/Xlaunch
I've followed the instructions here to setup an Xlaunch script to use plink. When I run the .xlaunch script, I don't see anything happen.
I can run the command from the windows cmd prompt successfully. I get an Xterm as expected.
C:UsersMyName>plink -ssh -2 -X my.name@linuxmachine xterm
my.name@192.168.XX.XX's password:
(After entering my password, the xterm appears on the windows desktop).
I've also added the DebugPlink option (DebugPlink="true") to the Xlaunch script, but still don't see anything displayed.
Here is the .xlaunch file I'm using (after adding the DebugPlink option).
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<XLaunch xmlns="http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes XLaunch.xsd" WindowMode="MultiWindow" ClientMode="StartProgram" Program="xterm" ClientStart="PuTTY" PathToProtocol="C:\Program Files\PuTTY\" RemoteHost="linuxmachine" RemoteUser="my.name" Display="0" Clipboard="true" DebugPlink="true"/>
Any hints?
